Delta’s approach to dietary support offers a multifaceted approach to health restoration. Dietary considerations must account for the specific needs of the member, but will usually include the following components:
G.I. HEALTH – THE INNER ECOSYSTEM WE CALL OUR “GUT”
Toxic intestinal body chemistry can interfere with the action of the BX Protocol. Colon cleansing is important! A person on a typical Western diet holds up to eight meals of undigested food and waste material in the colon. This type of impacted fecal matter has the potential to offset the effectiveness of the protocol. If any health restoration protocol is going to work or provide any lasting results, the condition of the colon must be addressed at the onset of treatment. The sustainability of the BX Energy Catalyst effect, as a function of cascading, or geometrically progressing through the system, relies heavily upon a biochemically healthy colon. As diseased cells liberate endotoxins, the body will use various organs to deal with and eliminate the toxins, the colon being principal among them. If the colon is clogged or unhealthy, it will not be able to eliminate the toxins efficiently. The unhealthier the colon is, the more the liver is taxed, dealing with residual toxins. Cleansing the colon and intestines will also aid in keeping the body chemistry simple, which reduces any chemistry that would interfere with the performance of the BX Energy Catalyst.
When executing any type of rigorous intestinal cleansing program, you will need to replenish your intestinal flora. You can do this by taking good probiotic supplements (good intestinal bacterial strains, such as Theralac by Life Extension which offers 30 billion per capsule). Also, you can cleanse orally or rectally. Deciding which one to do, or both, should be determined on a case by case basis. Stay away from over-the-counter chemical laxatives. These are NOT good colon cleansing options.
Cleansing the colon through oral means can be accomplished by using a powdered or liquid supplement and ingesting bulking agents (high in fiber). The benefit to cleansing orally is that the stomach and small intestine are cleansed in addition to the large intestine. Unlike oral cleansing, rectal cleansing does not reach up into the small intestine. Doing a combination of oral and rectal cleansing may be beneficial in most cases.
• Powdered or liquid supplements specifically for colon cleansing: (check your local health food stores or online at Swanson®, Vitacost® or Life Extension for these types of products) examples include: Oxy Powder™, Homozon™, ozonated magnesium oxide, pHlush™, etc. Generally speaking, ozonated magnesium oxide should not be taken with meals. An hour before or after a meal is recommended. If you are taking magnesium oxide supplements on a regular basis, it may be wise to add some extra potassium.
• The use of bulking agents may include bentonite colloid clay and whole psyllium husks. In general, do not take these with food. Ingest an hour before or after a meal to obtain optimal benefits.
• One of the best products that we have found is the Colonix Cleansing Program found at www.drnatura.com. Adjust their 30-day program to meet your requirements. Additionally, similar products can be found at your local health food store.
There are two main types of enemas: small volume and large volume. The small volume enema cleanses only the lower part of the descending colon. In addition to the descending colon, high volume enemas have a better chance of cleansing the transcending and the ascending colon. It is beneficial in many cases to perform a small-volume enema first, and then a large-volume enema. The concept here is the small volume enema helps prepare the way for the large volume enema by clearing any thick debris in the lower portion of the descending colon. Colonics have an even better cleansing effect than large-volume enemas. However, in some cases, a small volume enema retained for a long period of time is more effective than a large volume enema expelled all at once. Through case management and personal decision making, you will find what works best for you.
Colonics or Hydrotherapy
A colonic deals with the removal or neutralization of general toxins. In simple terms, it’s a high-class enema done by a Colon Hydrotherapist. Besides toxins, colon cleansing rids the colon of wastes, congestion, excess mucus, and fat that can be trapped inside the intestinal walls for years. In colon hydrotherapy, a tube filled with filtered, lukewarm water is inserted through the anus into the colon. Toxins, with debris and mucus which have built up for years, are flushed out of the colon. The primary focus of colon cleansing, in general, is to remove interfering toxins and negative constituents. The colon can be the breeding ground for parasites which often lay eggs in the colon. It is imperative that these toxins and parasites be removed as their presence weakens the effect and efficacy of the BX Energy Catalyst.
While a large volume enema goes through two quarts of water, a colonic goes through ten gallons of water. Therefore, a colonic session has deeper cleansing capability than even the large volume enema. The large volume enema is not as likely to cleanse deep inside the ascending colon as the colonic is. A benefit to doing enemas above colonics is price and convenience. Enemas can be performed at home without any specialized equipment other than listed previously.
Introduction to pH pH definition: the measurement to determine the level of acids and alkalis in a substance. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi stated that “The body is alkaline by design, but acidic by function.” This means that the body’s daily functions produce acids but the cells and tissues of the body require an alkaline environment in order to function properly. Acids are created within the human body by toxins we ingest or come into contact with in our environment and stress. In fact, the body produces large quantities of acids on a daily basis and these acids must be neutralized by alkaline minerals. A long term acidic state, even if low grade, is very likely to cause eventual disease.
Your body has a finite amount of alkalis stored up and these stores must be replenished every day via a healthy, balanced diet. The most abundant sources of alkaline minerals come from vegetables and fruits. Unfortunately, our modern diets and busy lifestyles breed severely deficient alkaline levels. A person can survive for long periods of time on processed, acidic foods because the body has ways of maintaining homeostasis (is the property of a system that regulates its internal environment and tends to maintain a stable, relatively constant condition of properties such as temperature or pH). However, this is accomplished at the expense of long term health because the body will borrow minerals from other parts of the body which eventually leads to depletion and then to disease.
How Does pH affect the BX?
At the Delta Institute, we believe that acid pH is a major contributing factor in developing chronic conditions. Inside the cell, mitochondria are responsible for creating ATP. As a coenzyme, it is often called the “molecular unit of currency” of intracellular energy transfer. ATP transports chemical energy within cells for metabolism which furnishes energy for the body. Excess acid in the body impairs the cells ability to produce ATP. Acidosis also diminishes the supply of oxygen to the cells which further interferes with the mitochondrial function as well as the body’s ability to repair and replenish itself. In addition, many harmful microorganisms and parasites thrive in an acidic environment. The impaired mitochondrial function and oxygenation issues compound the issues caused by the stealth bacterium. Furthermore, the BX molecule cannot work without proper oxygenation. In addition, the acids may complicate your body chemistry and interact with the BX rendering it ineffective.
If you are experiencing a lack of response to the BX, you may want to monitor your pH more closely. You can purchase pH strips at health food stores and online at Swanson.com, or other health food online stores to monitor your response to your alkaline BX Diet. Your pH should be in the neutral to low alkaline range (7.0 – 7.5) before your first BX administration.
Sometimes diet alone may not be enough to get your pH to an alkaline state. In this case, you may add some alkaline minerals (five of the alkaline minerals are calcium, magnesium, potassium, manganese & iron), baking soda, and green supplements (wheatgrass, barley grass, alfalfa powder) or blackstrap molasses to your diet. Please refer to the diet section of this handbook and the Back Office for diet recommendations, food charts and recipes.
Acid Alkaline Food Charts
As previously outlined, the goal of the BX Diet protocol is to create the correct balance of alkalinity within the body. Alkaline/Acid testing daily is the only way to be certain your alkalinity level stays high enough. Faithfully keeping your alkalinity/acid level properly balanced is imperative to your recovery and future health restoration and rejuvenation. Alkaline-forming food groups are the best way to increase as well as maintain a state that protects the delicate actions of the BX.
The use of oxygen, is often an important part of the BX protocol. The role of oxygen in the protocol is the equivalent of “stoking” or fanning the flame of a campfire, whereby the external application and continual supply of oxygen allows the fire to consume the wood.
Similarly, microorganisms are the “fuel for the fire” and the oxygen providing the catalytic stoking.
There are several forms of oxygen that may apply to the ‘stoking” of the fire principle (depending on the specific needs of the member). They include:
• Oxygen (02)
• Stabilized Oxygen
Let’s consider them briefly:
Oxygen sustains life. It is a nonmetallic element constituting 21 percent of the atmosphere by volume that occurs as a diatomic gas, O2, and exists in many compounds such as water and iron ore. It combines with most elements, is essential for plant and animal respiration, and is required for nearly all combustion. This is the form of oxygen we combine with the BX Protocol.
Hydrogen peroxide is a water molecule with an extra oxygen atom. The human body creates and uses hydrogen peroxide (free radicals) to destroy harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi. The following use of ‘food-grade’ hydrogen peroxide is an optional therapy intended to enhance the effects of the BX Protocol.
At the 35% medical grade concentration, hydrogen peroxide is a very strong oxidizer and if not diluted, can be extremely dangerous or even fatal. Any concentrations over 10% can cause neurological reactions and damage to the upper gastrointestinal tract. Individuals who have had transplants should not undertake an H202 program. H202 stimulates the immune system and could possibly cause a rejection of the organ.
Stabilized oxygen may also be called aerobic oxygen. It is oxygen in its molecular form. Stabilized oxygen is often sold as a non-toxic liquid concentrate of oxygen electrolytes. Its main benefit is antimicrobial, as it may kill harmful organisms. Some researchers believe that ingestion of stabilized oxygen increases the concentration of available oxygen in the blood. The dissolved oxygen content of tap water is about 9 to 12 parts per million. A solution of water and stabilized oxygen, as generally found on the market, contains in the vicinity of 9,000 parts per million of oxygen. This high concentration is deadly to infectious disease bacteria but non-toxic to humans. Stabilized oxygen is alkaline, with a pH of 12.5 and therefore it may help restore the acid/alkaline balance needed for a healthy human body. Many California school districts use stabilized oxygen in their natural-disaster programs, purifying each 55-gallon drum of water with just one ounce of stabilized oxygen. Apparently, the treatment makes the water safe to drink for five years or longer. A number of naturopaths prescribe stabilized oxygen treatment for infective and fungal ailments and even some athletes use it in training to increase energy and stamina. Often used as a water purifier, its super-oxygenating power is touted as a panacea for health issues. However, it could cause reactions to be too severe. At this time, we believe O2 is sufficient, but depending on the setting (onsite or at home) we may choose to implement a variety of oxidative protocol enhancements.
Why is Your Diet Important?
Nutrition is a vital component to the healing process. The foods you put into your body directly impact the way your body functions. Your body is like a machine that needs proper fuel to be healthy and maintain proper balance.
The primary goal of BX dietary patterns is to provide nutrients required to heal, while maintaining an alkaline state. As disease leaves your body, it does so in an acidic state. Alkalinizing via diet is a powerful tool to enhance the clearance of old disease states and promote health. Eating pesticide and herbicide free foods is vital. Each of the Delta diets has been proven to promote and maintain an alkaline state within the body. We even make it easy with an acid/alkaline food chart to help you make better decisions.
In addition, our diets have been designed to encourage healthy bowel function. The body needs to eliminate its toxic load, and so it is necessary to ensure all systems are working properly. To assist the body with this process, the Delta Diet places a strong emphasis on healthy soluble and insoluble fiber foods.
For the BX Protocol, nutrition takes on an additional role: during your journey to health restoration, the foods you choose will protect and enhance the activity of all aspects of the BX Protocol.. And as you recover and thrive, your increased metabolism with hunger for healthy foods to rebuild and rejuvenate you.
Understanding our Approaches
Delta Institute International has incorporated a variety of specialized nutritional plans to support our private club members while on the BX Protocol. Each individual and each condition varies, and our dietary patterns vary accordingly. Within each foodway, we have specifically tailored recipes to ensure each meal promotes healing and wellness, without compromising the effects of the BX Energy Catalyst.
Our diets are inspired by the best foodways out there, proven effective nutritional programs that in themselves are health promoting. Our unique adaptation of these dietary patterns is BX friendly, and will perfectly complement your journey to wellness.
Some of our dietary inspirations derive from:
Dr. Mullins, Dr. Blum, Dr. Wahls, Cappichiano, Paleo, Autoimmune Paleo, Ketogenic, Vegetarian, and more.
Bx Friendly Foods
Many otherwise perfectly healthy foods have the ability to react with the BX Energy Catalyst™ and render it useless. Therefore, each diet we recommend has taken these foods into consideration and created delicious menu choices while avoiding foods that reduce the Catalyst’s efficacy. The Delta Institute strongly urges members become familiar with their individualized nutritional program, and strictly adhere to the guidelines provided to enhance their journey toward health restoration.
To make things simple for our members we have put together a comprehensive member handbook with many recipes, foods to enjoy, foods to avoid, and a complete explanation as to why diet is so vital for healing.
When you become a member of The Delta Institute’s Health Restoration and Research Club, you will receive this manual, as well as a diet recommendation from one of our doctors to help guide you. You will also receive constant support from an experienced patient advocate.

Don’t over complicate the BX diet. Understanding the beauty of simplicity will keep you focused on the 6 pillars of the BX diet. The quickest way of using diet to maximize your health is extreme simplicity. Focusing on foods and food combinations can assist in this process. Focus on some of the following:
1. Raw juicing (emphasis the dark greens)
2. Good Fats
3. Supporting Mitochondrial Function
4. Minimizing unnecessary supplements
See video section.
General Hydration Keep in mind that the body needs water in order to eliminate waste products. Those undergoing a process of detoxification will often experience some of the following: chills, sweats, frequent urination, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. These are normal responses to eliminating toxins from the body, and every one of them requires water to function!
Stagnant waters become diseased and infested, while rolling, moving waters purify and cleanse. Keeping the water in your body moving by staying hydrated will ensure that intestinal cleansing is effective and that the toxins from the chronic conditions are being transported effectively via the body’s eliminative routes.
On the BX Diet, you should drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water each day.Additionally, you should include 1-3 glasses of raw juice daily. Sometimes the use of distilled water could be indicated during times of heavy toxin elimination. Distilled water has a unique way of helping the body to detox and is the water of choice during herxing.l. There is a basic concern of drinking distilled water and not getting enough minerals through diet. If you are consuming a base of grains, legumes, juicing and using a natural salt such as Himalayan salt which, contains 84 minerals, you do not need to be concerned about not receiving enough minerals.
For more than 2 decades, Delta scientists have been fascinated with the potential that water holds as a therapeutic agent.
We accept the fact that 60-65% of the human adult body, by mass, is water. However, a calculation based on molecular percentage reveals that 99% of the molecules in our body are water molecules.
The fact that water is important to our health is obvious. For years Delta has been conducting research and developing technologies designed to fully exploit waters medicinal potential in several areas. including:
• Water/Body Fluid Communication
• Water Vertexing
• Water Structure
• Water and Light
• Water and Magnetic Fields
• Fourth Phase Water
• Long Chain Oxides in Water
• Other body fluids such as Blood, Bile, Mucus, Lymph, etc.
